The Aberdeen Roughnecks are a new American Football team that intend on continuing and expanding what the original Granite City Oilers team started. The Aberdeen Roughnecks are an independent team, run by people who are intending to make this project a success. Therefore, to meet and exceed the expectations of the League, players, coaches and supporters, we rely on meticulous planning, hard work and hopefully the valued support of our sponsors.

The project began in June 2011 with a small group of like-minded people intent on starting a football team in Aberdeen. In a matter of months they have set up a full committee gained considerable interest in such a short space of time and are in a set position to start a strong recruitment drive for players and coaches.
